1:1,2 Paul, to the saints in Ephesus: grace & peace from God & Jesus.
1:3,4 Praise God, Jesus’s Dad, who’s given every blessing, choosing us blameless before
creation.
1:5,6 He lovingly pre-decided to adopt us as sons through JC, making his grace praiseworthy.
1:7.8 In JC: redemption, forgiveness of sins, lavished by a God who knew what He was doing.
1:9,10 God also made known his good mysterious will in JC, still to be put into effect in His time.
1:11 We were also chosen in JC, predestined according to God’s will, plan, and purpose…
1:12 …even this to bring praise for God’s glory!
1:13a You (Eph church) were included w. JC when you heard the gospel.
1:13b, 14 Having believed, you were given the Holy Spirit, a guaranteed deposit of what’s
coming.
1:15, 16 Paul is stoked about this to have been praising God since he got the news, praying for
you too.
1:17 Paul prayed for God to give the spirit of wisdom and revelation, for Eph. to know Him more.
1:18, 19a P. also prays for enlightened hearts, to know God’s hope, riches, and power.
1:19b,20 That power raised JC and put him at God’s right hand…
1:21 …beyond any rule, power, and authority known to man, ever, forever, period, the end.
1:22 And God put all things under JC’s feet, making him head of the church, his body.
