Mexico FAQ's
Where does the trip go?
We will go to Reynosa, Mexico. It is just over the McAllen, TX border. The
homes are built in the Colonial which is part of the city dump.
When does the trip occur?
We will leave on December 26th and return on December 31st.
Does this trip occur with another organization?
The trip is organized by Strategic Alliance through its Homes for the
Homeless ministry. The website is www.strategicalliance.org.
What can I expect on this mission trip?
During this trip, you will be building a house for a family. The first three
days is spent building and painting. The last day is a half were we furnish the
home for the family. Everyone on the team will assist in painting and building.
The focus of this trip is to pour into the family by meeting their physical
needs and spiritual needs.
What paperwork is involved for this mission trip?
There will be an application and release form for Summit and for Strategic
Alliance. Strategic Alliance also requires two passport size photos and an
additional release form for youth.
What is the cost of this trip?
The trip is $1150 per a person (cost of plane ticket, lodging/food, building
materials). This also includes a small additional cost to help with the Missions
ministry to provide scholarships, buy materials, etc.
Do I need a passport?
YES. Starting in January of 2008, the United States government is requiring
a passport to enter the country from Mexico.
