Genesis 1:26 God said, "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.
The final act of creation - man and woman.
The ultimate act of creation - God placing His glory in man.
Image and likeness refer to the real essence of something that makes it unique. We are like God in the fact we have passion, emotions, reason, etc. What makes Him unique is that all of who He is - is perfect, holy. This is His glory. The overwhelming greatness and awesomeness of God is His holiness.

Genesis 2:4 ...in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens.
Here a name is given to the Creator, which we have not yet heard - Yaweh.
1) The LORD in capital letters, is constantly used in our English translation, for Yaweh or Jehovah.
2) This is that great and unspeakable (to the Jews) name of God, which speaks his having his being of himself, and his giving being to all things.
3) From the Hebrew verb - to be, it denotes the name "I AM".

Stronger than any mountain cathedral, truer than any tree ever grew,
Deeper than any forest primeval, I am in love with you.
Through the years as the fire starts mellow,
Burning lines in the book of our lives,
Though the binding cracks and the pages start to yellow,
I’ll be in love with you. I’ll be in love with you.

The Enemy and His Plan
1 - There is an enemy who is against God and you as a follower of Jesus Christ who is out to destroy your life. (John 10:10; I Peter 5:8)
2 - His plan is to 1) isolate you 2) bring confusion to God's Voice - His Word, and 3) get you to believe a lie about the person of God.
* When we believe a lie of the enemy we do so at the cost of a truth about God.

Genesis 4:1-2 1"I have gotten a man with the help of the LORD."
Adam and Eve begin a family with the birth of Cain and Abel. Cain, the older, works the ground, and Abel, the younger, is a keeper of sheep. We do not know much about these men other than what God tells us here. They are mentioned in Hebrews 11:4 and I John 3:12.

Genesis 4:16-17 16 Then Cain went away from the presence of the LORD ...
Cain's rebellion (sin) towards God and his unrepentant heart led to His judgment by God. He is cursed to be a wanderer (for the land will not yield fruit to him now) and cursed to be separated from the presence of God. In defiance, He SETTLES in Nod and builds a city that He names after His son Enoch. This is not the same Enoch who will be known for walking with the Lord. The other Enoch is a descendant of Seth.

Adam's Descendants to Noah
1This is the book of the generations of Adam. When God created man, he
made him in the likeness of God.2Male and female he created them, and
he blessed them and named them Man [fn1] when they were cre-
ated.3When Adam had lived 130 years, he fathered a son in his own likeness,
after his image, and named him Seth.4The days of Adam after he
fathered Seth were 800 years; and he had other sons and daugh-
ters.5Thus all the days that Adam lived were 930 years, and he died.

How she made us feel, how she made me real.
And the ground beneath her feet.
