Zacapa, Guatemala (short-term trip)
Our church has built a strong and spiritual relationship with the long-term missionaries at the House of Hope in Zacapa, Guatemala (affiliated through People for Missions). The house consists of three families who care for thirty orphans through a model of establishing Christian families and homes. They also minister to the children of Zacapa through Oasis, a private Christian school. They church plant in the unreached remote mountain villages and witness to the Zacapa youth through a program called "Mission Zoe".
Mission trips to Zacapa involve a variety of experiences. Evangelizing, fulfilling specific needs, administering to the long-term missionaries, construction, and spending time with the orphans are just some of things we've experienced in the past. In the span of one year, we've sent members of our body to Zacapa on five separate occasions on mission trips or to fulfill a specific need. We plan on sending more that are called to this country on an ongoing basis. See the photo album of our recent trips.
Stacy Akers, a member of our body, is pursuing a long-term mission assignment at House of Hope. Please continue to pray for her and her journey to let God's glory be seen.
